MVA is proud to serve as the host agency and fiduciary for the Hillsdale County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (HCSAPC).
The HCSAPC is a community coalition, comprised of leaders from all sectors of Hillsdale County - law enforcement, human services, health care, substance abuse and mental health treatment, education, parent groups, and other important voices from our local community. All coalition members share a passion and dedication for improving the quality of life in Hillsdale County by preventing substance abuse.
Using the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) model, the coalition: · Assesses local alcohol, tobacco and drug problems, as well as existing prevention resources. · Gathers community support by collaborating with key community stakeholders. · Develops comprehensive strategic plans to address targeted problems. · Implements evidence based programs, policies, and practices. · Evaluates the effectiveness of prevention efforts.
The MISSION of the coalition is to make Hillsdale County a healthier, safer place to live, with families, individuals, organizations and agencies working together to help our community become even closer to being free of substance abuse.
